Supernatural - 10 Riskest Things Castiel Has Done
Castiel began on Supernatural as an obedient character. When he did show critical thinking skills, it got him into trouble together with his superiors. Turns out, he did follow orders from some not-so-benevolent beings. However, despite making the right option to help humanity, he wasn't prepared for the messiness of creating his own choices when he sided with the Winchesters.
That's bad news considering that heroism may be a risky business. Castiel does the simplest he can, and sometimes the risks have panned out for him. Other times, they've gone catastrophically wrong. Here are a number of the riskiest things, both successful and not, that Castiel has done.

Helping Sam & Dean Time Travel

Helping Sam & Dean Time Travel
Every fantasy fan can spot the matter with time travel. The potential for nonsense time loops and accidentally ruining the planet with the littlest of actions is terrifying. Castiel helped the boys time travel not just one occasion, but twice.

Once he did not have much of a choice since Anna had already gone back in time to prevent Sam's birth. in The next time, still, wasn't cleaned up so easily. He sent the brothers to urge Phoenix ash, and nearly got them stuck because he was too low on power to bring them back. and therefore the Phoenix ash had to be delivered by US mail courtesy of Samuel Colt.

Teleporting Dean To Sam

Teleporting Dean To Sam
At the instant of truth when Sam was close to killing Lilith, Dean wanted to talk to sam. He didn't understand what was going on while he was in lockdown, he simply knew something bad was happening. Castiel, on the opposite hand, knew exactly what was getting to happen. And he wasn't alleged to say a peep.

Even though Dean begged to ascertain his brother, Castiel kept telling him no. Finally, Dean got through to him and Castiel made the critical option to betray his superiors. He blasted Zachariah out of the space and teleported Dean to his brother. Castiel lost his life (for the primary time) and Dean did not stop Sam. He was just too late.

Killing Billie

Killing Billie
After another ill-advised supernatural deal by the Winchesters, Mary Winchester was left holding the bag and close to killing to satisfy the reaper who wanted one among her sons. Castiel did just stabbed her instead.

Cheating on the affect of death is clearly a nasty idea. Castiel just didn't know the precise consequences would be Billie resurrecting because of the new Death, head of all the opposite reapers. It seems to possess figured out okay, but it's hard to forget that Billie is perhaps itching to reap him.

Swallowing Monster Souls

Swallowing Monster Souls
One of Castiel's most infamously bad decisions was his strategy for winning the war in heaven. While his idea technically worked, the result was way worse than he assumed.

The single worst a part of his plan was swallowing the souls of Purgatory, including the Leviathans. He didn't realize this is able to make him explode and release all of them into the planet, inadvertently causing a special sort of apocalypse than the one he was trying to prevent. For a risk that Castiel calculated for therefore long, it's strange that it failed so spectacularly.

Burning Michael

Burning Michael
Castiel knew there was no hope left when Michael and Lucifer were close to the fighting. He agreed to assist Dean to get five minutes with Sam by attacking Michael the archangel with holy fire. He took this risk more out of affection for his friends than out of any real hope that it might help. Consequently, it killed Castiel.

Despite that, this actually clothed to be one of Castiel's better risks. Not only was he resurrected from the dead, but the time he bought Dean to talk to Sam had enough of an impact to permit the latter to regain control of his body from Lucifer. because of this move, Sam and Dean were actually ready to save the planet.

Infiltrating Heaven

Infiltrating Heaven
Castiel has had a tumultuous relationship with the opposite angels. He stimulated an excellent deal of trouble for them when he first rebelled, again once they had a war, and he's hurt the maximum amount or quite he's helped.

This put Castiel within the awkward position of getting to sneak into Heaven when he needed to free Metatron and obtain information about the Mark of Cain. he did get whatever he came for, Castiel too got on certain angels' bad lists again.
Trying to inform Dean About The Apocalypse

Castiel came over his head when he learned that Uriel supported the apocalypse. like all good heroes, Castiel wanted to try to do the proper thing and walked right into the danger. He investigated further and learned that each one of his superiors was of an equivalent mind as Uriel.

Castiel seemed to Dean during a dream so he could arrange a clandestine meeting; however, it never happened. Instead, Castiel was forcibly taken back to Heaven for a kind of re-education to remind him that he didn't serve Dean. He did tell Dean just a few episodes later, but he was just a touch too late.

Antagonizing The Empty

Antagonizing The Empty
Jack was born with powers he didn't understand or skills to regulate. Therefore, it wasn't completely intentional when he woke Castiel within the Empty, the place where dead angels go. Castiel awoke the Empty, which was not his fault. However, trying to influence it to resurrect him was a bold move.
Supernatural - 10 Demons That Stronger Than Angels
It didn't like Castiel and kept whining about how disturbing he was. This thing claimed it existed before God or Death, but Castiel basically threatened to stay harassing it if he wasn't sent back to Earth. Somehow that really worked. That's an honest thing considering he faced eternity fighting with this thing not knowing what it could do.

Crashing The Car With Hael

Crashing The Car With Hael
Castiel did become Human without knowing it when every angel at heaven was cast out in season 8. Metatron took his grace and gave him all the vulnerabilities of each other human, except with the added difficulty that Castiel still thought mostly like an angel and wasn't adapted for human survival.

When Castiel met Hael, it seemed like she may very well be ready to help him. This quickly went awry, and Castiel found himself trying to flee from her. thereto end, he grabbed the wheel while she was driving and crashed the car. With the Winchesters completely unaware of his predicament and Castiel unable to heal himself, he could've killed himself and left Sam and Dean within the dark.

Saying Yes To Lucifer

Saying Yes To Lucifer
In a desperate bid to prevent Amara, Sam was willing to free Lucifer from his cage. That changed when he discovered it had been set-up and God wasn't the one who told him to free Lucifer. But Castiel still saw it because of the best chance to prevent Amara, so he agreed to share his vessel with Lucifer.

Lucifer predictably seized control and went about trying to urge a major spot in Heaven and wreck Sam and Dean's lives together with his newfound freedom. It's hard to mention if Castiel really thought he could handle Lucifer or if he only did it because he didn't see an alternative.
