The Vampire Diaries Joseph Morgan ascends to Titans Season 4 as DC Comics' Supervillain Brother Blood, which will be one of three new threats.

Titans Season 4: Casts The Vampire Diaries Joseph Morgan As Brother Blood

Titans Season 4 has found a major villain, with The Vampire Diaries and The Originals star Joseph Morgan joining HBO Max as Brother Blood. Over the past few seasons of Titans, the popular DC group has faced many enemies from the comics. Beginning with Titans Season 1, Trigon served as their first big bad, while Season 2 brought Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke into the fold, both of which are the Teen Titans' most famous opponents. The series also didn't shy away from using villains from other corners of the DC universe, from Project Cadmus to Nuclear Family.

However, Titans Season 3 took a different path as the show was moved to Gotham City, with Red Hood (Curran Walters) and Scarecrow (Vincent Kartheiser) becoming the primary antagonists. Although Blackfire (Damaris Lewis) was originally a competition for heroes, they instead became an ally. This has resulted in some criticism that Titans Season 3 is leaning more and more on Batman's obsession, despite being about Nightwing and his team of heroes. However, Titans Season 4 appears to sidestep this problem entirely.

Morgan, best known for his role as Klaus Mikaelson from The Vampire Diaries and its spin-off, The Originals, is set to join Season 4 of Titans as none other than Sebastian Blood, aka Brother Blood. According to THR, Morgan's Brother Blood is described as "an introverted, intelligent with a subtle, darker nature." This will be the latest live-action on Brother Blood after being portrayed by Kevin Alejandro in Arrow Season 2. The Vampire Diaries alum is one of two new regulars for the following season, with Claws' Franka Potente cast as May Bennett, aka Mother Chaos. According to the description of the actors, Mother Mayhem is a predator who has taken on human form, with an unfettered faith in her mission in the world. In addition to these, Lisa Ambalavanar of The A-List is set to reprise the role of Jinx, DC's enemy, alone criminal, and a master of black magic who is also shy about causing havoc.

The fact that Titans Season 4 gives viewers three actual Teen Titans stat villains is a solid move. Since the 1980s, the group has created their own rich mythology that is so embodied that they always give the Titans plenty of materials to use. For this reason, many fans felt that it was Season 3's fault for ignoring its resources by using one of the Dark Knight's villains for 13 episodes. While the Arrowverse has played Brother Blood, the Titans will be able to fully delve into Sebastian's twisted dark sides, with Morgan being no stranger to playing complex characters.

During Tim Drake's debut at the Titans Season 3 premiere, the show hinted at the future arrival of Brother Blood as the Church of Blood was briefly seen behind him. With Sebastian as one of the primary antagonists, it looks like Season 4 of Titans will explore another dark, if not the darkest story yet. Interestingly, Jinx is the newest member of the Fearsome Five to be cast in the HBO Max drama, following previous appearances by Shimmer and Gizmo. This could mean that the Titans are preparing to give this team a bonus in the future. While the premiere of Season 4 of Titans has yet to be set, knowing that Brother Blood, Mother Mayhem, and Jinx are coming will make waiting for the show's return worth it.
