Welcome back to Nation. The Originals is a spin-off series from The Vampire Diaries focused on The Mikaelsons who are the strongest vampires in existence they are known as The Original Vampires. The Show aired the first episode on October 3, 2013. It narrates the first episode from Elijah Mikaelson's perspective. The story begins 300 years ago when Rebekah, Klaus, and Elijah arrive at the French Quarter located near the Mississippi River with their siblings Kol and Finn brothers daggered and kept in their coffins. The story then moves on to the present time when Klaus Mikaelson returned to New Orleans after receiving a letter threatening him. Elijah (Daniel Gillies) also leaves to find his brother. But he came across the witch who called Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to return to New Orleans.

Jane Ann Devereux (Malaya Drew) is the witch who called Klaus Mikaelson back to New Orleans. Her sister Sabine (Shannon Kane), who is also a witch, told Elijah that she tried to do magic, but Marcel Gerard (Charles Michael Davis) banned magic in New Orleans. Jane called Klaus for his help in getting rid of Marcel, who is harmful to witches. Elijah also comes to discover that Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus' baby. He sees this child as a new hope for their family, the way to redemption,

The episode ends with Klaus Daggering his Brother Elijah because he made a deal with Marcel to give him Elijah. he did so just to gain Marcel's trust and then he can take his city back,
