The last 7 episodes of Supernatural Season 15 will air in 2020. In March last year, it was stated that the long-running saga of Sam and Dean Winchester would be over. As their final challenge, the Winchester will face God. At the end of season 14, "Moriah", it was revealed that benevolent Chuck was playing with Sam and Dean's life because he was happy to see their agony. There was a sign of hope in one of the latest Supernatural episodes, as Billie revealed that Jack and Winchester are an integral part of God's demise. However, as the heroes found Reasons for optimism, it was left to the audiences to speculate what would happen next.
This is because the coronavirus pandemic disrupted the supernatural schedule. By the time that social distancing guidelines were in place and production must be stopped, 18 of the season-20 episodes were partially ready for broadcast. Meanwhile, principal photography in the last two episodes was incomplete. Another problem was that the special effects are not over yet, which is why the partially completed installments were not suitable for broadcasting. Andrew Dabb, the executive producer of Supernatural, took to Twitter to explain the situation.

Dab promised to complete the series despite unexpected delays. Per Comic Book, The CW revealed its schedule for Fall 2020. While most premieres for original shows have been bumped from their 2020 premieres and moving to 2021, the only exception is Supernatural, which would air its last batch of episodes later this year.
The CW is still focused on ending the supernatural right, with a plan to film the remaining episodes in late summer or early fall. This will save Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) enough time to kick off and start his new Walker show, which was also set to air on The CW.
Although we still don't have an accurate date when viewers expect to see Winchesters resume their battle against God, this latest news is a reassurance that the series will be able to sign off without having to wait until the next year 2021. The break could even prove to be a positive development for Supernatural, And potentially provide the writers with a little extra breathing time to solve any narrative kinks.
