Lucifans are in A long wait and more disappointment as it appears that the fifth season of "Lucifer" may not come in June 2020 after all.
The show will not return any time soon, based on the list of upcoming shows and movies, to Netflix next month. The recently streaming giant released the full list, and, unfortunately, Lucifer is not there.
This news obviously bothered fans who were waiting for any positive update on the show to return to TV. Fans initially expected the fifth season of "Lucifer" to come out in May, but this did not happen.
Lesley-Ann Brandt, who plays her role as the Maziken, hinted to the June issue in a previous interview. But it seems that this is not the case.
"I had hopes for #LuciferSeason5 news this week. Now we did get news... But the wrong kind of news," one fan commented on a tweet from Netflix Life about the show's release.
While, others continued to ask when the show would return with a fan asking Netflix in a tweet, "Ayo @netflix what's going on with #LuciferSeason5? When will it be released?"
Maybe there is still some good news although if co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich's recent tweet to is anything that goes through.
"I hope I don't get in trouble saying... the premiere date is coming SOON!!! Like... soon soon," Modrovich tweeted to which a fan replied, "We need all the prayers for S5 we can get!"

How does the "soon" question remain? The showrunners have been tight-lipped about the release date. They did not even give any hint of the month. Co-showrunner Joe Henderson attributed the release delay to "post-production hiccups" because Netflix canceled production amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Besides, writer and executive producer Chris Rafferty said that they cannot set a date for Lucifer Season 5 until Netflix announced it first. He and Modrovic confirmed that the new season would be huge. Each episode will take approximately an hour, which should be enough to make up for the long wait.

The fifth season of Lucifer may be the series' final season. Rumors indicate that Netflix has agreed to renew with the showrunners and that the cast is already on board to reprises their roles in Season 6.
