The Flash - Reveals How other Versions of Harrison Wells Can Return
The last episode of The Flash Season 6 reveals how other versions of Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) are back after "Crisis on Infinite Earths". The crisis left Arrowverse with Nash as the last of Harrison Wells, but the current story with Reverse-Flash has provided Arrowverse a way to continue using Harrison Wells characters.
In season six, episode 15, titled The Exorcism of Nash Wells, Cisco (Carlos Valdez), Barry (Grant Gustin), and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) work together to save Nash from Reverse-Flash. They discovered that the crisis somehow merged all versions of Harrison Wells into one person. This appears to include Eobard Thawne, although Thawne is not actually Harrison Wells. They go to Nash's mind and try to stop Reverse-Flash from taking over. Eventually, Thawne has been successfully cleansed of the body of Nash forever, but all other Wells are still alive inside it.
This episode, which Nash called "The Endless Wells Crisis", opened the door to other versions of Harrison Wells to continue appearing on the show. Nash may be the only physical Harrison Wells, but others can still interact with him on his mind. Cisco already confirmed this when he asked Nash if he would continue to see it in his head. This means that although Harry, Sherlock, and Welsh Council members cannot speak directly to Team Flash, they can communicate with Nash.
Since it was said that Reverse-Flash could have accessed all knowledge of "Infinite Wells", it stands to reason that the same would be true of Nash. Nash should be able to discuss with other versions of Harrison Wells when Team Flash needs advice on dealing with a specific issue. It may be possible for one of Harrison Wells's characters to temporarily control Nash's body, making the situation similar to what is already happening with Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Killer Frost.
It looks like this is how Flash will handle the saddest change to Arrowverse by "Crisis on Infinite Earths". The end of the Infinite Earths, the merging of worlds, and the rebirth of the multiverse affected Arrowverse and its characters in many ways, and one of the biggest changes was what Harrison Wells did. The Flash's Harrison Wells replaced a new version of the character at the beginning of the following season, essentially becoming an annual tradition of the series, but the crisis took that way. Such a change was inevitable, given the nature of the crisis, but The Flash has found an interesting solution for this. So the tradition may have changed a lot, but at least The Flash still has a way to bring back old versions of Harrison Wells and introduce new ones.
