Klaus: Turning Aunt Jenna Into A Vampire Before Killing Her

Catherine was initially introduced as Big Bad of Season 2, but Klaus gradually claims this title when he arrives at Mystic Falls. The Original Hybrid intends to sacrifice Caroline Forbes during the Moonstone Ritual. She escapes, so Klaus turns Elena's aunt Jenna into a vampire and kills her instead.

Jenna's death is tragic and remains one of the most painful deaths in the Vampire Diaries. Elena loses another beloved person as Klaus strengthens his evil position.

Klaus: Drowning Carol Lockwood
